All data is stored exclusively on servers within the EU — specifically at Hetzner in Germany. Data is transmitted encrypted (TLS), backups run daily, and you remain the owner of your data at all times.
Starter plan: Fully GDPR compliant — no AI models, no data transmission to third parties. Pro & Business: Optional AI features (receipt scan, assistant, text generation) use external AI models (Claude Haiku 4.5 by Anthropic, GPT-4o-mini by OpenAI, Gemini by Google, or Mistral Small). When using your own API keys, data is transmitted to the respective provider — a separate Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with the provider is required.
Yes — at any time and in full. Invoices can be exported as PDF, as a ZUGFeRD 2.1 eInvoice (PDF + XML), or in the Austrian ebInterface format. Customer and supplier data is available as CSV. For your accountant, monthly DATEV exports are available (transaction data EXTF, master data, receipt images as ZIP). Your data belongs to you — even after cancellation.
Monetro is available for businesses across the EU. Austria is fully supported with SKR04 chart of accounts, 0%/10%/20% VAT rates, FinanzOnline filing, and EAR (income-expense statement). Germany is fully supported with SKR03, 0%/7%/19% VAT, and ELSTER XML download. The DATEV/EXTF export works for both markets. Expansion to further EU countries is ongoing — 14 app languages are already included.

Yes — Monetro provides a full REST API for all resources (invoices, clients, receipts, reports). The Business plan includes a dedicated API access with its own token. Full API documentation is available directly in the app under Help → API Documentation.
Monetro supports all common formats: MT940/MT942 (SWIFT), camt.053 XML, CSV, XLSX/XLS, and PDF. Simply drag & drop into the app or upload via file dialog. Transactions are automatically recognised and can be matched directly with receipts and invoices. Direct bank connection via Open Banking (GoCardless) is optionally available.
The app is available in 14 languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Slovak, Portuguese, Dutch, Turkish, Serbian, Romanian, Hungarian, and Czech. The language can be changed at any time per user in the settings — useful for international teams. The AI assistant automatically responds in the selected app language.
Under Settings → DATEV monthly export, select the desired month and receive a ZIP archive with three EXTF files (transaction data, debtors, creditors) plus all receipt images — ready to hand over to your accountant. The export follows the official DATEV EXTF standard and can be imported directly into DATEV.
